Last night Lori and I decided to watch’s Church Online.  Last week we watched Part 1 of a two part series called “Stop Acting Like a Christian. Be One” by a guest speaker, Christine Caine.  She did a great job in that message so we decided to watch Part 2.  Little did we know how God was going to use her to affect us.  I won’t try to explain what we saw or felt, but I strongly encourage everyone to watch the two videos on the A21 Campaign website. Here is a quick overview of some of the statistics:

  • Roughly 2 to 4 million people are trafficked in and across borders each year.
  • Human trafficking is now a leading source of profits for organized crime, together with drugs and weapons, generating an estimated 9.5 billion dollars per year.
  • The overwhelming majority of those trafficked are women and children (some as young as 4 years old).
  • The average victim is forced to have sex 20-30 times a day.

If your heart is as broken as ours after watching these videos and reading through this material, then I want to encourage you to get involved in some way: tell people, blog about it, Facebook it, Twitter it, donate some money to it, just do something about it.  Here is a list of 21 Things you can do about it.  Just don’t feel bad about it, and then decide it is someone else’s problem.  James says it like this:

What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?   Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?  So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. James 2:14-17

And consider Jesus’s words in Matthew 25:31-46.  Something CAN be done about this problem.  WE just have to BE the CHURCH AND DO SOMETHING!!
